The Power of One!

Who hasn’t said: “Why should I bother helping if I can do so little…it’s only me…”  Well, I truly believe in the power of one.  All of us are connected: to other humans (of every gender, culture, religion, etc.) and to nature around us.  All of us can do something that contributes to creating a better world for all living beings.

Who doesn’t want peace, abundant food, clean air, clean water, rich forests, equal rights, etc?  Well, it’s time to do something in that direction.  You might be saying: ” I’m not like Julia Butterfly Hill to live for two years perched on tree…”.  Ok, neither am I.  What she did was great, but if, like me, you’re not into that type of activism you can start in simple ways because every contribution matters.  You can start by growing some plants organically in you back yard or in containers if you don’t have room.  You can start recycling at home.  You can take cold showers in summer (or all year long if you have pretty much the same warm climate throughout the year as myself).  You can turn vegetarian or at least cut down on animal products.  You can turn off the lights you’re not really using.  You can help feed and dress the poor through your local church or charity organization.   You can treat others with respect.  You can write a blog on the subject…  The powerful statement here is : YOU CAN!

Every time you try to help the needed and give back to the Earth we are all a step closer to the world we all would like to have.
